Dr. Gaurav Singh was raised in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. He graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While there, he also completed his Master of Science Degree in Community Health.
Dr. Singh received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008 and then completed a one year internship at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Singh obtained his specialty training in ophthalmology at the prestigious Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute in Milwaukee, WI. During his ophthalmology training, Dr. Singh worked on several research projects and presented his findings at major research conferences.
In August of 2012, Dr. Singh joined Gailey Eye Clinic as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. Dr. Singh has experience in the latest small-incision cataract surgery including laser-assisted cataract surgery (LenSx), as well as Advanced Technology Lens implantation. Dr. Singh also has a special interest in refractive surgery including Laser Vision Correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism (LASIK). Furthermore, Dr. Singh is also experienced in the laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma and laser treatment of diabetic eye disease. In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Singh provides nonsurgical medical care for many diseases as well as family services for glasses and contact lenses.
In his free time, he enjoys doing family activities with his wife and three kids. Distance running, hiking, and watching sports are some of his favorite interests. He also has an interest in international medicine, having performed charity cataract surgeries in the developing nations including Mexico and India since 2012.
