Dr. Christopher Turski was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to Germany in his early childhood. He completed his medical studies and obtained his MD degree at the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, one of the oldest universities in Europe. He was one of the top medical students in his class and was awarded recognition and yearly scholarships for his achievements and outstanding academic performance.
Dr. Turski went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University Eye Hospital Bonn in Germany, one of the most prestigious University Eye Clinics in Europe, and received German and European Board certification in Ophthalmology. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Turski performed extensive clinical research work at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases in Bonn, Germany, investigating ophthalmic changes in patients with rare neurological diseases. Dr. Turski completed his PhD at the Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn and earned the magna cum laude honorary title for his doctoral dissertation. He authored and coauthored several peer reviewed publications and holds innovation patents.
To further expand his professional skills in ophthalmology, Dr. Turski completed fellowships in Medical Retina at the University of Kentucky in Lexington and at the renowned Duke University.
Dr. Turski is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the German Society of Ophthalmology. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, soccer and traveling. He is fluent in English and German.
