Dr. Strauss received her Bachelors of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Winona State University. After attending the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, she went on to complete a residency in ocular disease and low vision at the Jesse Brown VA and a fellowship in medically necessary contact lenses at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She practiced optometry for a few years in the greater Boston area before returning to the Midwest. She is a member of the Illinois optometric association and the American Academy of Optometry. She has also served as a volunteer for the American Academy of Optometry on their fellowship admittance committee. She lives in Urbana with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Lucy. She enjoys traveling, running, golfing, and cheering for the Celtics.
