Dr. Shawn Koehler was born in LaSalle, Illinois. He graduated from University of Saint Francis (USF) in Joliet, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1998.
While at Saint Francis, he was an NAIA Academic All-American Student Athlete. Dr. Koehler then studied at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He was on the Dean’s List and a member of Gold Key and Beta Sigma Kappa international honor societies. He received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2002.
Dr. Koehler is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the AOA Political Action Committee, and the Illinois Optometric Association. He is also a member of the Lion’s Club International, Knights of Columbus, and
the Rotary International.
In 2003, Dr. Koehler joined the Gailey Eye Clinic to provide primary eye care including routine eye exams, contact lens service, treatment and management of ocular diseases, and post-operative surgical care.
Dr. Koehler enjoys golfing, fishing, and tennis.
